
CULTURE WEEK IN FLORENCE
The 13th Settimana della Cultura (Culture Week) will take place throughout Italy from 9 to 17 April.State museums, archeological sites, libraries and archives will open their doors to the public free of charge.But the week is also an occasion to visit places which are usually closed to the public or to take part in guided tours and conferences given by experts. Classical music concerts will also be held in a few special venues.In Florence, Culture Week offers an extremely rich and attractive programme. Apart from exhibitions already running in the city there will be numerous cultural initiatives organized in conjunction with the Liceo Artistico of Porta Romana.There will also be concerts and the traditional spring fairs and fierucole (farmers’ markets).Remember that the main state museums of the city – Uffizi, the Academy, Museum of San Marco, the Bargello museum and many more will be free of charge.
